The City is inviting proposals from qualified homeless services providers to operate a Safe Parking Pilot Program, beginning early 2022. The program will provide community members who are experiencing homelessness a place to safely park their vehicle or RV with access to basic services, as well as support services to help move individuals into housing. In June, City Council directed that the program be developed and located in a portion of a City-owned parking lot at 55 Stony Point Rd. The recommended program operator, selected through the Request for Proposals (RFP) process, is tentatively scheduled to be considered by Council for approval on November 30. A virtual community meeting for residents and businesses within the area and other interested parties will follow in early December prior to the launch of the program. The program site map, a list of FAQs, and directions to submit operator proposals are available online at srcity.org/SafeParking.
