The National Weather Service has UPGRADED the High Wind Watch to a WIND ADVISORY for the Bay Area including ALL of Santa Rosa from 7 PM Tuesday (1/26) through 7 AM Wednesday (1/27).
* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected, locally in excess of 60 mph in the ridges and peaks.
* WHERE...North Bay Interior Valleys, North Bay Mountains, San Francisco Bay Shoreline, East Bay Interior Valleys, East Bay Hills and the Diablo Range, Santa Clara Valley including San Jose.
* WHEN...From 7 PM Tuesday to 7 AM Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Burned trees in recent wildfire-fire impacted areas will be particularly susceptible.
Residents in and around the GLASS FIRE burn area should stay away from fire-damaged trees that may be weakened and could fall due to the winds. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.
