Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Public Hearing

On August 2, 2017, the Sonoma LAFCO will consider a proposal from the City of Santa Rosa to annex five unincorporated islands, known as the Roseland Area Annexation.

Documents associated with the LAFCO Commission meeting will be available on the Commission's website on or after July 26, 2017.

Through its goal setting process, the City Council directed development of a work plan for annexing the unincorporated Roseland area. A number of coordinated efforts are underway which are related to annexation of this approximately 715-acre unincorporated area.

Roseland Area Annexation Application Status
On April 3, 2017 the City of Santa Rosa submitted an application to LAFCO for annexation of the five unincorporated County islands shown in the map above.  

The LAFCO Commission will be considering the Roseland Area Annexation at their meeting on August 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors' Chambers located in Room 102A at 575 Administration Drive, Santa Rosa.

If the LAFCO Commission takes action on August 2nd, there is a 30 day reconsideration period, followed by a 28 to 56 day protest period, during which time the public may submit written protest to LAFCO.
