Now is a time of incredible change, and Santa Rosa wants to make the most of that! The recent fires, housing crisis, electrical grid blackouts, and calls for racial justice and social equity provide a backdrop for an immensely important discussion on how the City will grow and change over the coming years and decades. Every voice matters in shaping our future.
The 25-member Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is one of many public engagement tools in the General Plan Update Community Involvement Strategy. The CAC will help to ensure the City hears from all members of the City's communities and neighborhoods. The first 18 CAC members were selected after a 6-week open recruitment process. Together, they exhibit the city's diverse population, interests, and neighborhoods. The remaining seven members that will be appointed by the City Council will help to reinforce the CAC's diverse representation. The first CAC meeting will be scheduled the last week of January or the first week of February.
On December 8th, the City Council will receive a report regarding the CAC member selection process and the CAC organizational framework. These documents are posted below along with the Community Involvement Strategy and the list of the CAC members selected to date.
