GANG PREVENTION AWARENESS WEEK (GPAW)

Started in 2008, The Santa Rosa Violence Prevention Partnership's annual week-long series of events showcases community efforts to reduce youth violence and raise community awareness. At each event staff is on hand to dialogue and engage around The Partnership's efforts to create a safer community, and what the community can do to help support the cause. All events are FREE of charge with the exception of the Seminar which requires a registration fee.

Our 9th Annual Gang Prevention Awareness Week this year starts September 15th 2017 and extends through September 23rd 2017. We invite you to join us at one (or more!) of our events - have fun, and find out more about The Partnership and the services available that are helping make our community a safer place to live and play. Art Exhibition & Car Show,  September 15th. 5:30pm - 9:00pm. Depot Park in Old Redwood Square. - Join us as we kick off Gang Prevention Awareness Week with Aztec dancers, art exhibition, music, food and a car show! Gang Prevention Seminar, September 19th. 7:15am - 4:00pm. Finley Community Center. - This years Seminar, "Tipping the Scale: Our Role in Building Resiliency," will focus on trauma-informed implementation strategies and resources. We will take deeper drive into how we can strengthen our commitment to serving our youth and families that have experienced trauma. Parent Awareness Training, September 20th. 6:00PM - 9:00PM. Roseland Elementary. -The two hour-hour workshop designed to engage parents by bringing in violence prevention experts and resources specialist who will respond to questions and concerns so together, we can gain greater parent involvement and find positive alternatives for today's youth! For more information, please contact Salvador Strawbridge at sstrawbridge@srcity.org
