2019 Violence Prevention Seminar Information

The City of Santa Rosa's Community Programs & Engagement Department cordially invites you to the 2019 Violence Prevention Seminar, "Tipping the Scale: Managing Trauma to Build a Resilient Community," which launches The Violence Prevention Partnership's 2nd Annual Gang Prevention Awareness Month. The seminar will open with a 3-hour workshop delivered by Elizabeth Vermilyea, Ph.D., focusing on identifying strategies to build resiliency for our youth and families. After lunch, the seminar delivers breakout sessions in partnership with the Santa Rosa Police Department, Santa Rosa City Schools and additional community partners, covering areas such as: local emerging trends in law enforcement, collaborating with students and school districts, and self-care for direct service providers. Breakfast and lunch included with registration!


A collaborative effort involving private citizens, government, local community-based organizations, schools, parents, the faith community, and local law enforcement to prevent violence in our community and provide support for our youth and families through partnerships.

​​The Partnership has invested in numerous programs that support pro-social behavior in youth and families and has provided alternatives to gang involvement by supporting community organizations that align with The Partnership’s Mission and Vision.

​The Partnership convenes with a diverse set of policy and direct service stakeholders who all interface with the issue of youth and gang violence. 
​The Partnership raises awareness and educates the community about youth and gang violence by offering solutions to these issues and diligently collaborating to reduce violence in our city.
