Water Polo
About
Water Polo is a year round program located at Finley Aquatic Center that provides continual water polo training and competition opportunities to a variety of different age groups and skill levels. The co-ed team is designed to increase the playing, training, and growth opportunities for water polo athletes in the Sonoma County area by providing ample competition opportunities along with local coaching and athlete development training and education. Through training and competition, coaches and athletes learn valuable life lessons, such as goal setting, team work, dedication, discipline, and the value of community involvement all while having fun!

Details
In this introductory class, participants will learn the basics of water polo such as treading water, passing/shooting the ball and swimming technique. Before being admitted to this class, participants must be able to swim and tread water for short periods of time, which includes swimming two laps in deep water without stopping and treading water for 30 seconds straight.

Details
In this class, participants will learn the basic fundamentals of water polo such as skill work, building endurance for strong swimming, structure/rules of the game and how to be confident in the water. Before being admitted to this class, participants must be at least 11 years of age and must be able to swim and tread water in the deep end for an extended period of time, which includes swimming four laps straight without stopping and treading water for one minute straight.

This is an advanced water polo class for participants that have developed their skill far enough to be able to play in a competitive environment. The main focus of this class is to help fine tune skills to help participants compete at a higher level by building endurance with advanced drills as well as helping each participant learn the more technical sides of water polo. Coaches will determine if the participant trying out is ready for this level of water polo.

Details
This is a recreational league for adults. Must be a strong swimmer and should have some knowledge of the sport. Master's participants range in skill from beginner to very advanced. Master's scrimmage twice a week in an officiated controlled match. If you are under the age of 18 you must have permission from the program directors in order to participate.
