The City of Santa Rosa announced today a series of community meetings to be hosted by its Community Advisory Board (CAB) in an effort to obtain public input on the City’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget for 2016/2017.

“Think of a Capital Improvement Project as a home improvement project for Santa Rosa,” said Jaime Peñaherrera, Community Engagement Director. “These projects enhance our overall quality of life by improving and maintaining our infrastructure, including the streets we drive on, the water we drink, and the parks where our children play.”  Capital Projects are organized into a long-range plan that prioritizes their urgency and identifies funding sources.  The Community Advisory Board invites residents to attend one of the upcoming community meetings and to be an active participate in the CIP planning process.

CAB’s chair Tanya Narath stated, “These workshops are an excellent opportunity to learn about the different types of capital improvement projects, understand how they are funded, and provide input into the next city budget. The CAB will share the results from these workshops with the City Council during the budgeting process."

Ms. Narath will present feedback received from residents to the City Council during the budget hearings. A complete list of planned and current Capital Projects can be found at here.
