Bayer Park Master Plan

The City of Santa Rosa complete construction of Bayer Neighborhood Park and Gardens on December 21, 2016. The 5.8-acre park includes a community pavilion, kiosko, skate park, half-court basketball, volleyball court, adult exercise equipment, barbecues, ethnic outdoor cooking ovens, picnic tables, farm-themed playground structure, nature discovery play area, a commercial kitchen, a restored barn and community gardens with farm stand. LandPaths, a local nonprofit, installed, operates and maintains the community garden area.

The park property was acquired in 2007, and the concept for Bayer Neighborhood Park & Gardens was created through a series of community meetings held in 2009. The Master Plan was further amended by City Council in 2013. The park was designed by Royston Hanamoto Alley & Abey (RHAA) of Mill Valley, California. Deide Construction of Lodi, California constructed the park. The total cost to acquire land, design and construct the park was $13.3 million.
