Welcome to the Office of Community Engagement (OCE)! The OCE houses citywide community engagement efforts and the Violence Prevention Partnership. The OCE focuses on the most important natural resource we have: people! Residents of Santa Rosa have worked tirelessly to build neighborhood coalitions, clean-up parks, plant gardens, build relationships, and create a sense of community.

Do you want to get to know your neighbors better? Have you ever wanted to build a neighborhood group and wondered where to begin? Does a block party, clothing exchange, community garden, or neighborhood garage sale sound like fun to you? Have you ever wondered how you can influence decisions affecting you within the city? Community Engagement is about giving you the tools needed to take a leadership role and work with your community to decide what issues are worth investing in. It involves a partnership between government and the people it represents. It means taking collective responsibility for the conditions of our community.

  Community Advisory Board
Community Advisory Board
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a 14-member panel of residents from 7 districts across the city. Each is appointment by a member of the City Council and is tasked with representing their district’s neighborhood issues and input to the Council. Each must live in the district he/she represents. They are conduits for neighborhood associations, local organizations, and individuals who want to be involved in local issues. They are a resource for the community to organize and be heard.  Annual Community Improvement Grants are available. Learn more about how your neighborhood can apply!
