This 8-week training program is taught by the expert running staff of Fleet Feet Sports Santa Rosa. The training provides individualized coaching and is designed to help you cross that finish line and achieve your own personal goal, through practice, conditioning, and education of proper run/ walk technique. The St. Patrick's Day 5K is a chip-timed race open to all ages and abilities and participants receive a commemorative mug at the finish line! Stick around after the race for the post-run celebration complete with a judged costume contest, fun activities, sponsor giveaways, music and (new this year) a little leprechaun dash -- a free mini run just for the kids 5 and under! Plus, all finishers get to fill their race mug with root beer courtesy of Whole Foods Market or a beer for those 21+. Don't miss details on the Group Discount/ Team Race Competition below (listed under COST information).
Proceeds from the 5K benefit the Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Scholarship Fund. Scholarships from this fund provide families in need the opportunity to participate in our recreation programs.
All registrations must be done online - Click here to register. Bike Monkey is hosting our registration site; you will be redirected to their website to sign up. (Registration closes March 9th at 11:59pm.) Participants or a designee must pick up registration packet the day before the race at Finley Community Center. Packets will not be distributed on race day. Packet pickup is being held in conjunction with the FREE 2017 Wine Country Running Event presented by Fleet Feet Santa Rosa.
Mandatory for all racers - You will need to sign and turn in a Waiver Form at packet pickup to receive a race packet. If you are picking up race packets for other participants or group members, you must bring their signed forms with you or we cannot issue their packets. You can download the Waiver Form here.

Group Discount/ Team Competition: Available for advanced registration of groups of 10 or more. All team members must be registered in one transaction to receive group discount. Each registrant will receive $5 off their registration and (new this year!) the group will be entered into a team race competition where the top 5 race times on each team of 10 or more count toward a cumulative team time. Prizes awarded for top team! don't forget to pick a team name when registering!
Where do I pick up my race bib?
Pick up your race bib from Finley Community Center (2060 West College Avenue) on Saturday, March 11th from 10am-4pm. You must bring a signed Waiver Form to pick up your bib. Download one here. If you are picking up race packets for other participants, you must bring their signed forms with you or we cannot issue their packets – no exceptions. You do not need to show your ID at packet pickup.
Do I need to pre-register or can I register on race day or at packet pickup

Will there be water or snacks on the 5k course?
There will be water at the start and finish line, and at the turn-around which is the halfway point on the course. If you know you will need more water than that during your 3.14 mile run or walk, please plan to have a water bottle with you on the course. Fresh fruit provided by Whole Foods Market will also be at the finish line for refueling.
Do I need to bring identification on race day?
For individuals 21 years and up planning to consume beer at the event, a valid photo ID will be required to receive a beer wristband. Only those with wristbands (whether a race participant or not) will be served beer at the beverage tent.
What is included in my registration fee?
Racers will receive a goodie bag, fruit and water, and a commemorative mug after crossing the finish line. One free beer OR root beer is allowed to each registered race participant. Additional will be available for purchase. Non-participants may also purchase beverages. Registrants will also be eligible to participate in the costume contest for a chance at prizes after the race.
I registered for the St. Patrick's Day 5k, but now I can't participate, can I receive a refund or else transfer my registration to someone else?
Sorry, but there are no refunds or transfer of registrations for the St. Patrick's Day 5k.
What is the route for the 5K?
The race will start in Finley Community Park, travel southbound down Stony Point Drive and make a left to enter onto the Santa Rosa Creek Trail traveling East on the trail. There will be a turnaround midpoint at Pierson Street and the route will then travel West back down the Creek Trail, until getting to Stony Point Road and heading back to Finley Park. To ease the flow of traffic on the route, when you go to line up at the start line you will have to choose one of the following waives for your start position:
Are strollers and dogs allowed on the race course?
Baby strollers and well-behaved dogs on leashes are allowed on the course, but must line up in the very back at the start line. Please be courteous of all participants' 5K experiences out on the course, thank you!
Where should I park?
Finley Park has a large parking lot. Parking is also available across the street form the park at the Municipal Services Center North Building (55 Stony Point Road).
How do I access photos taken at the event?
We will have event photographers onsite to capture the event action. Participants can also have their photo taken at the photo booth. All photos will be available for viewing on Santa Rosa Rec & Parks Facebook page within one week after the event. Our photos are totally free because we encourage you to share your awesome experience with others!
What prizes will be awarded?
You will be able to view live results on your smart phone immediately after the race by scanning the QR code on your race bib or by going to this link: rhes.us/live. The overall top 2 male and top 2 female runners will each receive a $50 gift card from our Sponsor Fleet Feet Sports. Awards will also be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each age group and those awards can be picked at the 5K Award Pick-Up tent once top finisher results have been posted (approximately 4pm).
What if I can't stay to pick up my award?
If you finish in the top 3 in your age group, and are not able to stay to pickup your award bag, you will be able to pick it up from Fleet Feet Sports - Santa Rosa (111 Third Street) during their business hours until March 26, 2017. Fleet Feet's business hours are:
Monday and Tuesday, 10am - 6pm
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am - 7pm
Saturday, 10am - 6pm
Sunday, 12 - 5pm
2:45pm: All participants report to start line
3:00pm: Race start-time
3:20pm: Post-race celebration opens as first finishers arrive back in park
4:00pm Award pickup booth opens (top 3 in each age group)
4:15pm: Costume Contest Presented by Wine Country Radio
4:30pm: Little Leprechaun Dash for kids 5 and under (free to enter!)
5:30pm: Event ends

The Little Leprechaun Dash is a mini race for children 5 years and under. Cheer on your little leprechaun as they complete a short loop beginning and ending at the start/finish line to earn their "Golden Coin" prize. Entry into this race is free. Lineup at race start line begins at roughly 4:30pm.

The Santa Rosa Water Department partners with Rec & Parks to make the 5K truly “green” and kicks off Fix a Leak Week at the event! Stop by the super cool mobile Hydration Station at the race finish line to help quench your thirst with chilled water from the tap.
