Beginning July 1, 2012, all businesses and public entities in the State of California that generate four cubic yards or more of waste per week and multi-family units of five or more are required to recycle. The purpose of the law (AB 341) is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting commercial solid waste to recycling efforts.
