Santa Rosa’s Courthouse Square is being reunified to create an outdoor plaza, designed to host events and invite residents and visitors to shop, dine, and enjoy. The original side streets are being reinstalled featuring wide sidewalks suitable for outside dining. The existing park areas of the Square are being joined together to create a beautiful gathering space in the heart of Santa Rosa.
Construction Update for March 14, 2017
Have you seen the updates to Old Courthouse Square lately? Have you driven by or checked it out online? The Square is really coming together!
It's exciting to see all the activity as the square takes shape. The central pavers are going into place. The crews have almost completed the entire south end with pavers. The two 12' x 12' kiosks were placed on their foundation in the early morning hours on Saturday. Both roadways and all of the parking spaces have been paved.
On Thursday and Friday (March 16 & 17) the west side walkway will be closed to allow the crews to seal the concrete and let it dry. The walkway is expected to re-open for the weekend. Also, by the end of this week the sod is expected to be delivered for the center of the Square.
As always, we appreciate the community's patience and understanding while we work to build this project in the heart of Santa Rosa. We recognize the impacts of ongoing construction in Downtown, and are making every effort to complete this project as quickly as possible.
